The Plague of Xenophobia
Last month,
all football fans across the world were shocked to hear such a devastating decision from Mesut Ozil, one of the best midfielders in the German team
who decided to retired professionally from the German National Team. The reason
of his retirement seriously startled me because it based on racism and this
thing supposedly not happening in this modern era where everyone has embraces
each other ethnicity regardless of their religions and cultures.
Xenophobia
is a racial hatred against people from other countries and if this plague keeps
spreading throughout the society like a wildfire, it would be ruining up the
peace and harmony that already lasted several decades. For me, the 21st
century people should realise that racism and racial hatred towards the people
from other countries totally unacceptable and irrelevant as we already evolved in maturity; where
the Black African in America can mingle with the White and the Turks in German
finally assimilated inside the country that famous with it’s automotive. And
now I have been wondering for a very long time; why this thing happened? Why can't we just live inside the world that everyone still respecting each other; doesn't matter what's your races, religions, and occupations?
When I read
about Mr Ozil statement on his Instagram page, my heart was beating rapidly;
agitated, sorry and depressed to hear that kind of issues still happening
inside our community today. I knew that some people still don’t fully understand
regarding racism thus my hands have been shaking with anticipation; to write
something that perhaps could tolerate this plague from spreading more
especially inside the brain of the youth as they are the next generation inside
our society. Before you hold any grudges towards another race; think twice about
the consequences of your behaviour because it would be affecting not just a few
bunches of people, however it would costly affecting the whole nation. And I
guess that everyone doesn’t want our peaceful world to be ruined by racism, am I
right?
In conclusion,
I am hoping that the world could be a better place where everyone regardless of their religions, ethnicity and cultures mingling together inside the same
community and live serenely. Last but not least, PLEASE SAY NO TO RACISM!
