How Football Can Mingle People Together
I reminisced
back my memories on the 2010 World Cup in South Africa where everyone in my school
kept chattering about football. That time I was not involving much about
it as I just watched the game blankly; did not know about the players, the strategy and what I knew was a bunched of a guy running all across the field,
created chances to strike a goal. Sometimes they were rolling, faked an injury for attention with the hope the referee would giving them a penalty; and somehow this amused me very much. Eventually, my love towards football has increased through the years as I always accompanied my father; rooting for his
favourite team, the Red Devil from Manchester. Somehow, Manchester United has also been my favourite team too under the heavy influence of my father!
Then, the
2014 World Cup in Rio started and my best friend and I kept gossiping and
chattering around about who the best football players, their personal life, the games and more. I
was a shy person back then and barely talk about some crappy stuff but I did
not know how I can be so talkative regarding football. During that World Cup
that happened so festively; the only match that still freshly remained inside my mind
was when Germany won against Brazil with their 7-1 result. The game was
unbelievable and unpredictable as Brazil; as the host nation just lost in a
very horrendous way. Even though I did not support neither of the team, I seriously felt bad for Brazil and their fans as my best friend rooted passionately for them but you know..losing in the game is inevitable.
Besides the
World Cup, Euro 2016 also been the step stool for me to mingled with more
people; talked with my family and friends regarding the game. And I really could
not believe my sister that did not have a cup of tea towards football; was
watching the match together with us as well as root for her favourite team,
Wales. Subsequently, both of us was rooting for the same team during the 2018 World
Cup in Russia so our conversations at home merely about football. Not just
that, I also was able to make a new friend during my MUET examination with other
candidates and guess what…we were talking about football for God’s damn sake. From Mbappe to Hazard, you name all the players and I can describe it with full of details. And you might be surprised!
Now I knew
football definitely brought people together no matter what team or what club
do you supports but most importantly, football unites family and friends to be in the same
time and same place; cheers happily for their favourite teams.
